The Problem:

The United States has major problems in regards to personal finance. We are among the lowest countries on record interested in saving for our financial future. Facts about the dismal state of U.S. personal finances are below:

Consumers pay $17.5 billion in overdraft fees annually
$12.5 billion of the amount collected is from 16% of overdraft violators
Average credit card debt per household is $8,650 (Highest in the world)
Social Security will pay out less than $20,000 to each retiree in 2035

There was no solution to this enormous problem, so we created one:

Our team is comprised of experienced and licensed professionals in the areas of financial planning, information technology and business development. Our team's experience is diverse with members from the private and public sector. Sharing similar backgrounds, each of us is committed to helping everyone manage and understand their day to day finances better.

Dezmon Landers | Founder

Dezmon Landers is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor's of science in Family Financial Management. He has graduated from prestigious national programs such as The Harvard Business School Summer Venture in Management Program in Boston and the Monster.com Diversity Leadership Program in Los Angeles. In 2007, Dezmon was one of only two candidates in the United States chosen to work for Goldman Sachs International in London, England. He has worked with four financially successful internet startups including GotCast.com in the areas of technology, marketing and business development. Today, he is the founder of Simplifyed.com which is the nation's largest web community of financially motivated individuals and financial representatives. He speaks throughout the country in the areas of entrepreneurship and financial literacy and was one of the youngest people in history to address members of congress on issues of national financial literacy in 2008.

Gerald Eheduru | Co-Founder

Gerald Eheduru is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. On obtaining his degree, he went on to attain a Master of Engineering and Management degree from Case Western Reserve University. He spent a year at Johnson and Johnson, working in manufacturing operations at McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals and focused on product development at Ethicon Endo Surgery. In the past he was one of th brightest candidates at the General Electric Company completing the 2-year Operations Management Leadership Program. He has facilitated the onset of a number of start-ups and brings his invaluable experience and leadership to Simplifyed.com.

Jason Melton | Chief Technology Officer

Jason Melton has several years of experience working in technology. He's held technical positions such RF Tester, DBA, Technical Analyst, and Web/Application Developer at large corporation and governmental entities such as Lucent Technologies, DSW Shoes/Value City, and the State of Ohio. He's earned a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology and has vast expertise in the areas of computer science and computer engineering.

Halle Malcomb | Visual Communications Expert

Halle Malcomb is a graduate of The College of the Arts, Department of Design at The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design and a minor in African American and African Studies. During her tenure at The Ohio State University, Ms. Malcomb received academic awards, was an active student leader, and developed an on-going Art Exhibition, which is currently held annually on OSU's campus and throughout the Columbus' Community. In the past, Halle has worked in the nonprofit sector with Girl Scouts of America as a lead graphic designer and was the head of her own graphics design agency, We Design Graphix.

Eddie Charusethakarn | Web Programming Specialist

Graduating at the top of his class Eddie Charusethakarn is an Engineering Technologist. He has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University. He has developed countless websites for businesses, community organizations and the public sector. In the past he was a key part of an Electronics Testing team in a fast pace manufacturing environment working for AdL Technology. His background is in both complex hardware and software technologies.

Wil Schroter | CEO, GoBigNetwork.com | Forbes Syndicated Columnist | Author

After starting his first Internet company at the age of 19 (Blue Diesel), Wil grew the company to over $65MM in billings in just five years. At 22 Wil sold his company into a larger ad agency (inChord), joined their board, and helped grow the agency to over $600MM in billings within four years. While still growing his ad agency Wil built, grew and sold a software company (Kelltech) for $10MM by the time he was 26. He has been recognized by the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year as well as the US Small business Association Entrepreneur of the Year programs. Wil also launched and grew the world's largest on-line automotive leasing exchange, Swapalease.com, which has listed over $2 billion worth of vehicles. Somewhere along the way Wil has started 9 companies, but this is a bio, not a novel. Wil is well recognized for his startup company expertise. His nationally syndicated column covers startup company strategies and reaches over 4 million professionals in 42 major cities across the United States. He has appeared on NBC, CBS, and MSNBC as well as the Wall Street Journal, Smart Money and Red Herring. Wil is also the author of Go BIG or Go HOME (an obvious marketing tie-in, but a cool book title nonetheless) which details how the strategies behind the fastest growing startup companies.

Daniel Moss | VP, Business Development HBCUConnect.com

As VP of Business Development for HBCU Connect, LLC, Daniel Moss is one of the original team involved in the creation of what is now HBCU Connect, LLC. It wasn't until 2001 however that Moss joined his brother William (CEO) to help move the company to the next level. Drawing on a keen and natural ability to tune-in to people, find common ground and communicate with them on their level, Moss, as VP of Business Development, is responsible for establishing new channels of business, business to business sales and event management. Before his role as VP of Business Development, Moss' main responsibility was development and implementation of HBCUCareerCenter.com's back-end client management interface, drawing on his years of experience as a manager for Discover Card Financial Services. Moss, an alumnus of Claflin University, in Orangeburg, SC, actually continues to work as a professional artist and has won national awards including Best of Show in the largest juried art exhibition in the Southeastern United States, the South Carolina State Fair Annual Juried Art exhibit.

Jonathan Fox | Associate Professor - Financial Planning, The Ohio State University

As Associate Professor and Program Director for the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) Program at The Ohio State University, Jonathan Fox teaches courses in comprehensive financial planning, income tax planning and consumer behavior and is the recipient of several college teaching awards. Dr. Fox has published over 40 articles on the financial learning and consumer decision-making process. His work appears in a wide range of academic journals including the Journal of Consumer Affairs, Financial Counseling and Planning, Financial Services Review and the Journal of Family and Economic Issues. Dr. Fox's received a Ph.D. in Consumer Economics at the University of Maryland.
